Sinharaja Forest Reserve, which is both a Biosphere Reserve and a World Heritage Site, is undoubtedly one of Sri Lanka's most popular tourist destinations. Sinharaja Forest Reserve will undoubtedly be your destination if you are drawn to greenery, wildlife and its history, and, most significantly, birds. A virgin rainforest in Sri Lanka is a fascinating land filled with endemic species such as trees, insects, amphibians, mammals, reptiles, and, of course, birds. Indeed, Sinharaja Forest Reserve is known around the world for its diverse bird population as well as its large collection of flora and animals. So come and discover the jungle; it will undoubtedly be a great experience for you. Good morning, teachers and friends. Let me tell you a little about the place I most want to go.

If I had the opportunity to visit a famous location, I would choose the Pyramid, which is a World Heritage Site and the only one still standing today. Sinharaja Forest Reserve is a site that is always full of life, located in Sabaragamuwa, adjacent to Ratnapura, between the villages of Rakwana, Deniyaya, and Matugama. It may be difficult to see much animals here due to the deep jungle, but you may readily see some of the amazing bird species that have made it famous. The Greater Racket-tailed Drongo and Orange-billed Babbler lead mixed feeding flocks of birds. Other species such as the Red-faced Malkoha, the Green-billed Coucal, and the Sri Lanka Blue Magpie can also be found.A large variety of amphibians, such as tree frogs, and reptiles, such as the endemic Green pit viper and Hump-nosed viper, as well as insects such as the Common Birdwing butterfly, live in the forest.
